Image of CCSU Bluechip CardEveryone must obtain an identification card by having your picture taken at the Card Office, Student Center. The process takes approximately 5 minutes. Once you obtain a card, no activation is necessary. Your card expires only when you withdraw, graduate, or terminate from the university.

The Blue Chip card can have (2) accounts associated with it:

1) This applies to all cardholders, and is a debit account. Having an ID picture taken and receiving a card allows one to use the debit account. If money is not deposited in the account, the balance is zero, but the account exists. If one desires to use the card for purchases, money can be added at any time. Money on account transfers from semester to semester. This account is NOT intended for cash flow, and is to be used for on and off-campus purchases.

2) This account is optional and is for financial services with the
Achieve Credit Union (formerly EDCONN). With credit union membership, members can activate their Blue Chip ID Card as an ATM card. The Blue Chip card can then be used in any ATM machine on the Cirrus, NYCE, SUM, or Mastercard network. You can have any financial aid balance, as well as student employment earnings, direct deposited to your CenConn account. More information can be obtained from the Achieve website, by calling (203) 639-7916, or visiting the on-campus office in The Student Center Rm. 106.
